Document When will my Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC) be automatically renewed?

In most cases, if you have previously purchased a Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC) by Direct Debit (DD) then it will automatically renew during the final month of your existing PPC and you will be informed of this by post.

Although this list is not exhaustive, these are some scenarios where a PPC wouldn't normally be automatically renewed:
  • You are turning 60 years old within 9 months of the current certificate expiring

  • The DD is being paid from a 3rd party account

  • There are outstanding payments for the current PPC

  • If there's been a missed payment at all during your DD

  • You paid off your remaining DD balance using a card
