Document Am I liable for my dental penalty charge if my dentist did not ask for proof of entitlement?

Yes, if you've claimed free NHS dental treatment and ticked the box on the form, it's your responsibility to ensure you have a valid exemption, not the dentist's.

If you've received a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and you didn't have a valid exemption at the time you claimed the free treatment, you're liable for all charges.
