Document Can my Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC) be backdated to cover an earlier NHS prescription I claimed for?

No, a PPC can only be backdated within the first month of purchase, up to a maximum of one month before the purchase date.

As Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) are issued at least two months after a prescription is collected, you would not be able to amend the start date of your PPC to cover a prescription for which a penalty has already been sent.
