Document What can I do if I was entitled to a Medical Exemption (MEDEX) certificate but did not have a certificate at the time of my prescription?

If you ticked Medical Exemption (MEDEX) (box E) on your FP10 prescription without having a valid exemption in place, you should receive a letter advising you to pay the prescription charge and to obtain a certificate within an allotted time in order to avoid a penalty charge.

If you ticked a different box on your FP10 prescription and believe you are entitled to a MEDEX certificate, please contact us.

You must still pay the prescription charge and obtain the relevant certificate.
