Document When will I receive my NHS Tax Credit Exemption certificate?

If you still qualify for an NHS Tax Credit Exemption certificate and HMRC have provided us with your details, a new certificate will automatically be issued to you within the last month of the existing one you hold.

Example: Your certificate is due to expire on the 30th April, if entitled, you should receive your new certificate by the 30th April.

Find out whether you still meet the eligibility criteria.

If we don't receive your details from HMRC prior to your current certificate expiring but you're still eligible, we'll send your new certificate as soon as possible. We aim to get the certificate to you before the end of the month in which we receive your data from HMRC. We cannot advise on behalf of HMRC as to when they'll send your details to us. As long as you meet the exemption criteria, your Tax Credit award notice can be used as evidence until your certificate arrives.

Recently qualified for exemption

If you've recently met the criteria to qualify for an exemption, we'll automatically send your certificate to you before the end of the month in which we received your data from HMRC. We cannot advise on behalf of HMRC as to when they will send your details to us.

As long as you meet the exemption criteria, your Tax Credit award notice can be used as evidence until your certificate arrives.

Please check whether you meet the eligibility criteria.

You have requested a duplicate certificate from us

You'll receive your duplicate certificate no later than the end of the following month to which you contacted us as we only produce the NHS Tax Credit Exemption certificates once a month. However, your HMRC Tax Credit award notice can be used as evidence until your duplicate certificate arrives.
