Document Can I appeal against the dental penalty charge?

Yes, if you wish to challenge the dental penalty charge, you need to explain your circumstances and if you can demonstrate that you didn't act wrongfully, or with any lack of care, you won't be subject to a penalty charge. If you wish to do so, please see the contact details on your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).

If you're not satisfied with the handling of your case, you may use the NHS complaints process to make a complaint against the NHSBSA. Ultimately, this can be escalated to the Health Service Ombudsman. You must exhaust the NHSBSA complaints procedure before the Health Service Ombudsman will consider your case.
