Document What date will I be paid on?

You should be paid on the 1st of the month unless it is a bank holiday or weekend in which case it is brought forward to the nearest prior working day.

The exception to this is when 1 April falls on a weekend or bank holiday.

When this occurs the payment date will always be delayed to the first working day in April and is not brought forward to 31 March or earlier. This is to meet the Department of Health and Social Care's requirement for a maximum of 12 payments to be made in any one financial year. If the payment date was brought forward to 31 March or earlier, this would result in 13 payments in the financial year.

This is the same if you are a pharmacy or an appliance contractor.

Please note that if you are a practice you will need to speak to your CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) as they are responsible for making your payments.
