Document What is the procedure to amend a Hospital/Foundation Trust's details on your system?

Authorised signatories within a Hospital/Foundation Trust must inform NHS Prescription Services of any additions, deletions and changes to:
  • Hospital ePACT codes (for prescribing purposes).
     
  • Cost Centres within their organisation.
     
  • Medical and non-medical prescribers within their organisation.
These amendments are notified via proformas available on our website, which are sent to nhsbsa.prescriptioninformation@nhs.net


Hospital ePACT codes

Please note that these procedures only relate to hospital units that issue FP10 prescriptions that will be dispensed in the community. These forms are processed by NHS Prescription Services and ultimately recharged to Hospital Trusts using the hospital ePACT code identified on the FP10 prescription form.

Cost centres

Proformas to make the following amendments can be found on our website. Click here to view.
  • New cost centre.
     
  • Splitting or merging two or more cost centres.
     
  • Hospital Trust relinquishing a hospital ePACT code in order to monitor prescribing at an individual level.
     
  • Closure of cost centre.
     
  • Change of cost centre details.

Medical Prescribers

Where a cost centre has been created to monitor prescribing at individual level, an authorised signatory at the Trust must advise NHS Prescription Services of any amendments to doctor details such as:
  • Doctor joining a cost centre.
     
  • Doctor leaving a cost centre.
     
  • Change of doctor details e.g surname.

Non-medical Prescribers

An authorised signatory at the Trust must advise NHS Prescription Services of any amendments to non-medical prescriber details such as:
  • Non-medical prescriber joining a cost centre.
     
  • Non-medical prescriber leaving a cost centre.
     
  • Change of non-medical prescriber details e.g surname.
