Document How do I get my NHS prescription(s) if my Medical exemption certificate hasn't arrived yet?

If you need an NHS prescription and your Medical exemption certificate hasn't arrived yet, we advise that you pay for your NHS prescription(s) and obtain an FP57 receipt at the time of purchase.

If more than 3 weeks have passed since you completed your application, contact us to confirm whether we have a record for you.

It's important to remember that having a qualifying medical condition doesn't automatically entitle you to free NHS prescriptions, you're required to have a valid Medical exemption certificate.
