Document Who is entitled to a Maternity exemption certificate?

You can apply for a Maternity exemption certificate if you:
  • Are pregnant and have had your pregnancy confirmed by a GP, Midwife or Health Visitor
     
  • Have given birth within the last 12 months (including a birth of a child that was registered as stillborn), regardless of which country you were living in when you've given birth
A Maternity exemption certificate entitles the holder to free NHS prescriptions within England.
