Document What evidence do I need to send to prove my eligibility if I'm an undergraduate course?

If applying for an undergraduate Social Work Bursary for the first time

When apply for an undergraduate award you'll need to prove your eligibility from the first year of your course.

Have previously applied to Student Finance England

If you've already been assessed as eligible for Student Finance, you can do this by sending your Student Finance England (SFE) award letter from the first year of your course. For example, if you're applying for the bursary for the second year of your course we require the SFE award letter from your first year (not the letter from the academic year you are applying to us for). In this instance you will not be required to provide any identification evidence, such as a passport, driving license or national identity card.

If you've been assessed as not eligible for funding from Student Finance England the application form requests you to state this and send your original refusal letter. If you've been assessed as not eligible because you have received support for a previous higher education course then you're required to send this original award letter from your previous course.

Please note, if you've applied online for Student Finance funding you can normally log into your account and print off any of your previous award letters.

Haven't previously applied to Student Finance England

If you've not applied or not yet been assessed by Student Finance England, please read the application form to find out what evidence you'll need to send. The evidence will depend on your own personal circumstances.

If you've already received the Social Work Bursary in a previous year of this course

You'll not need to send your Student Finance England award letter and/or your identification again.
