Document What can I do if I have selected the wrong marital status on my application form?

This will depend on whether you are applying as a dependent or an independent student. If you have answered yes to any of the questions within the Student Award Status section, you have applied as an independent student.

Please see the following guidance for each Award Status:

Dependent

Please send us a covering letter advising of your mistake along with your student coversheet.

Independent

This will depend on what you have selected.

If you have incorrectly selected 'Married', 'Civil Partnership' or 'Cohabiting' and should have selected 'Single', 'Widowed', 'Divorced' or 'Separated', you have incorrectly suggested you live with a spouse / civil partner / partner.

If you have incorrectly selected that you do not live with a partner as if married and should have stated that you do, you have incorrectly suggested you do not live with a spouse / civil partner / partner. This question will appear if you had also incorrectly stated that you are 'Single', 'Widowed', 'Divorced' or 'Separated' and should have selected 'Married', 'Civil Partnership' or 'Cohabiting'.

Please see the following guidance that fits your circumstances;
