Document What can I do if I have selected the wrong course or course start month in the course field on my BOSS application?

If you have submitted your application and you have made a mistake on this question, please see the following guidance.

Mistake made on a first year application

If your original application is pending / active

As long as you have provided the correct financial year information for the correct start month, you should send a covering letter to us advising of the correction. Send this letter along with your student coversheet and any other requested evidence. We can correct this during the approval process.

If you have provided the incorrect financial year information based on the incorrect course details, you will need to reapply.

If your original application has been approved

As long as you have selected the correct calendar year and provided the correct financial year information for the correct start month, you do not need to inform us. When we receive a COSA form (Confirmation of Student Attendance) from your university to confirm you have started attending your course, BOSS will correct this mistake for you.

If you have selected the incorrect calendar year and / or have provided the incorrect financial year information based on the incorrect course details, you will need to contact us to have your application rejected and you will need to reapply.

Mistake made on a reapplication or a medical / dental application

If your original application is pending / active

As long as you have provided the correct financial year information for the correct start month, you should send a covering letter to us advising of the correction. Send this letter along with your student coversheet and any other requested evidence. We can correct this during the approval process.

If you have provided the incorrect financial year information based on the incorrect course details, you will need to contact us to have your application rejected and you will need to reapply.

If your original application has been approved

You should reapply immediately using the correct course details. Once your application has been submitted, you will need to contact us so we can activate your new application if you have already sent all relevant evidence.

The above situations are not the same scenario as your course being deferred.  If your course is deferred so it now enters a new financial or calendar year you need to submit a new application.
