Document When will I receive my new NHS Tax Credit Exemption certificate?

Renewal

If your NHS Tax Credit Exemption certificate is expiring / has expired, we'll automatically issue you a new one as long as Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has informed us that you still meet the qualifying criteria.

If we don't receive your details from HMRC prior to your current certificate expiring, we'll send your new certificate as soon as possible.

We cannot advise on when HMRC will send your details to us but we aim to get the certificate to you before the end of the month in which we receive your data from HMRC.

As long as you meet the exemption criteria, your Tax Credit Award Notice can be used as evidence until your certificate arrives.

Recently qualified for exemption

If your circumstances have changed and you now meet the qualifying criteria for an NHS Tax Credit Exemption certificate, we'll automatically send you a certificate when HMRC informs us that you qualify.

We cannot advise on when HMRC will send your details to us but we aim to get the certificate to you before the end of the month in which we receive your data from HMRC.

As long as you meet the exemption criteria, your Tax Credit Award Notice can be used as evidence until your certificate arrives.
