Document How is an application from a refugee assessed?

Refugees are normally people who have had their application to stay in the UK assessed by the Home Office and have been granted refugee status or exceptional leave to stay, they're therefore not asylum seekers. In this situation they're normally entitled to Income Support.

For the purposes of the NHS Low Income Scheme, any income paid to a refugee through the National Assistance Act is fully taken into account as income.
