Document What are the maximum amounts that I can claim through Disabled Students Allowances (DSAs)?

The amount of DSAs that may be approved will be based on the recommendations in your Needs Assessment Report (NAR), however the information below shows the maximum amounts that could be awarded:

•Non-Medical Helpers Allowance - £20,725 per year.

•Specialist Equipment Allowance - £5,214 for the duration of the course (If your course started, or you are applying for DSAs for the first time, on or after 1 September 2016 you will be required to make a contribution of £200 towards the cost of any computer or laptop recommended for you).

•General Allowance - £1,741 per year.

•Travel Allowance - Uncapped.

There is no difference in the maximum rates if you are a part time student.
