Document When will I know how much bursary I will receive?

When NHS Student Bursaries receive your online bursary application through BOSS (Bursary Online Support System) and all of your supporting evidence, your eligibility for a bursary will be determined. If you meet the eligibility criteria your application will be assessed and we will email you when this is completed.

Your Notification of Award (NOA) will be available to view in your BOSS account as soon as your application has been approved. Fully completed applications can take up to 25 working days to assess (or 35 working days if you have missed your application deadline for sending all of your supporting evidence in).

The NOA will display the university you are attending, the number of days you will be in attendance on your course, the parental, spouse, civil partner or partner contribution, where you will be living during term time and the method and frequency of payment.

The NOA will not be finalised until you have actually enrolled on your course and attend your first day and we have received confirmation of this from your university.
In advance of making your application, it is recommended that you use the online bursary calculators. Click here to check if you are eligible to apply for a bursary, understand if we will class you as an independent or a dependent student for the purposes of means testing and receive an estimate of how much bursary you could expect to receive.
