Document Are NHS Pension rights different for staff that work at GP Practices and Direction Bodies?

Yes there are certain regulations which differ for NHS staff employed by GP Practices and Direction Bodies. If you are employed by a GP Practice you cannot claim your NHS Pension under redundancy regulations. The majority of Direction Body employees also cannot claim their NHS Pension under redundancy either. However this may differ depending on the terms and conditions of the Direction document.

For further information on Direction Bodies including the Direction Employer Guides, please see our website.
