When a Pension Sharing Order is implemented the former spouse or civil partner's Pension Credit is completely independent of the member's pension rights in the NHS Pension Scheme.

Therefore, Pension Credit benefits do not lapse on remarriage, entering into a civil partnership or the death of the member.

imilarly, Pension Credit benefits do not lapse if the Pension Credit member marries or enters into a civil partnership.
