Document If I have a Pension Credit and NHS pension in my own right, can I claim my pension credit without taking a 24 hour break?

Yes, if you have been awarded a Pension Credit  and also have accrued membership in the scheme in your own right, these pensions are classed as two separate pensions. You can claim your pension credit, continue to work in NHS employment and pay into your NHS pension without taking a 24 hour break.

Please see our website for the relevant forms to claim your NHS pension.
