Document If a Scheme member nominates several people to receive the lump sum on death benefit and one or more nominees die before payment can be made, how is the payment divided?

If one or more death benefit nominees die before payment can be made, the deceased nominees share(s) would be paid to the member’s estate, unless the member chooses to amend their nomination via lump sum on death benefit nomination (DB2). Under no circumstances can their share be paid to the remaining nominee(s), or anyone else.
For more information on death benefit nominees please see our website.
