Document Can a GP Appraiser pension their appraisal income?

A type 1 medical Practitioner (GP Provider) and a type 2 medical Practitioner (salaried or long term fee based GP) must pension their appraisal income subject to the fee being paid to them directly by NHS England/NHSCB or a Local Health Board.

A GP Provider can either 'pool' their appraisal income into the practice account, or complete a SOLO form and pension it individually.

A Salaried GP must use the SOLO form to pension this income.

GP's who are solely freelance GP Locums can pension their income in respect of appraisal work carried out from the 1st of April 2014 via GP Locum forms A and B.

Appraisal work carried out before this date cannot be pensioned.
