Document Is Pensions Increase applied immediately if the highest year Total Pensionable Pay (TPP) figure is not the most recent year (1995 Section)?

Not initially. Where the highest year Total Pensionable Pay (TPP) is not the latest year, the highest year figure will be used in the pension calculation but to avoid a possible overpayment, Pensions Increase will not initially be added.

These cases will be reviewed six months later to confirm that the highest pensionable pay figure has been used. If it is confirmed that the highest year is not the most recent, Pensions Increase (if applicable) will then be applied and arrears of pension benefits paid.  If the most recent year becomes the highest year your pension award will be revised and arrears of pension benefits paid.
