Document Can I have my NHS Pension paid into an overseas bank account?

Yes, to request that your NHS pension is paid into an overseas bank account you will need to complete an overseas bank payment application.

We will make payments direct to your bank account, held in the country specified on the bank mandate, in local currency. A small processing fee will be collected from each net payment to facilitate conversion to local currency and onward transmission overseas.

If you are planning to retire to a country that is not included in the list on our website you will need to make arrangements to have your NHS pension paid into a bank in the UK or one of the countries listed on our website. Your chosen bank will be able to assist you in arranging for the funds to be forwarded to you.

For more information, please see the Bank Payments Overseas factsheet on our website.
