Document Who is entitled to help with the cost of NHS wigs or fabric supports in England?

You are entitled to help with the cost of NHS wigs and fabric supports in England if you are:

  • aged under 16
  • a 16, 17 or 18 year old who is still in full time education
  • named on, or entitled to, a valid Tax Credit Exemption certificate
  • named on a valid HC2 certificate
  • named on a valid War Pension Exemption certificate and the wig or fabric support is for your accepted disability
  • a NHS hospital in-patient
You are also exempt if you get, or are included in an award of someone getting, one of the following benefits:
  • Income Support
  • Income Related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Pension Credit Guaranteed Credit
