Document Do I need to pay for medication I receive at hospital?

If you're given medication either during your appointment / stay at an NHS hospital or to take away with you when being discharged, this will be provided free of charge. This will generally be a small supply and you may be given an NHS prescription to get further medication dispensed to complete the full course of medication / treatment.

The items dispensed from the NHS prescription will need to be paid for, unless you have a valid exemption or remission.
