Document What is a non-dependant deduction?

As part of your assessment, a deduction may have been made from your housing costs in respect of any non-dependant's in your household.

A non-dependant is an individual who's living in your household but isn't classed as dependent on you, for example, a child who has left full-time education and is, therefore, considered to be independent. It's assumed that they make a contribution towards your household expenses.
