Document Dental Contract Reform - Can a practice perform root canal treatment and a crown on a patient classed as ‘red’?

As a general principle, active disease should be controlled and stabilised before complex or advanced treatment is provided. It's good practice to only provide these treatments when conditions in the mouth are stable and, therefore, likely to ensure that the risk of failure due to either periodontal disease or caries has been significantly reduced.

These decisions should be taken by clinicians based on these principles and their clinical experience.
