Document Dental Contract Reform - How long will a patient remain on my capitation list?

A new patient is added to the practice patient list when they attend for an oral health assessment (OHA). They'll remain on this list for a period of three years unless they attend for NHS dental treatment elsewhere, expect where the patient attends another practice for urgent treatment, charge exempt treatment or treatment on referral (in these cases the patient will remain on the existing practice list)

Patients due to fall off your capitation list are highlighted in the ‘Imminent Lapsers Report’ available on Compass:

Location: Reporting >> View Published Reports

This 3 year time limit will refresh when the patient returns for another Band 1, 2 or 3 course of dental treatment. We will receive a notification of a patient's intent to return through your appointment data transmission.
