Document How do I create a new performer?

The creating of a performer is carried out by the Commissioner (Area Team / Local Health Board) only. This needs to be done in the 'Performer Creation and Authorisation' section of Compass.

Location: Performer >> Performer Creation and Authorisation >> Create Performer

The performer should already be on the GDC register. If you know their GDC number, put it in the GDC Number box and click the magnifying glass to search, if you don't know the number, leave the box blank and click the magnifying glass, this will return a full GDC register list for you to look through. Once the results have been displayed you can narrow down your search by surname or forename.

If the performer is not yet present on the GDC register, the Commissioner will have the access to an override facility which allows them to temporarily create the performer whilst waiting for the GDC number to be added. You will need to manually enter the performers details in this scenario.

Any field in green is mandatory.

Performers are required to provide evidence of their Date of Birth. If you have received a evidence of the performers Date of Birth, you can scan in a copy of the evidence by ticking the 'Date of Birth Confirmed' box and clicking upload.

The 'System User' box is automatically populated with a tick however, please always double check this as the performer will only receive their Compass activation if the tick is present.
