Document What is Child Dependants Allowance (CDA) and who is eligible to apply for it?

Child Dependants Allowance (CDA) is additional funding available to students with eligible dependent children.

In order to apply you must meet the general eligibility criteria for the Learning Support Fund and have parental responsibility for a child who is under 15 years of age on the first day of the academic year in which you are applying, or under 17 years of age if the child is registered with special educational needs.

You will need to apply for CDA each academic year and submit your application and supporting evidence within nine months from the start of your academic year.

Further information can be found in the Child Dependants Allowance section of our website.
