Document What is the deadline for submitting my annual updates to NHS Pensions?

In order to meet requirements set down by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), NHS employers must provide annual returns for members in a timely manner.

For Practitioners and non-GP Providers annual returns must be submitted within 1 month of the end of the financial year immediately following the financial year to which it relates – i.e. for year end returns ending 31 March 2015, returns must be supplied no later than 30 April 2016.

For Officer members annual returns must be submitted within 2 months of the end of the financial year – i.e. for year end returns ending 31 March 2015, returns must be supplied no later than 31 May 2015.

All information required to be able to calculate the pension input amount is required. This will enable NHS Pensions to generate Annual Allowance statements, to inform members if they have breached the Annual Allowance in the NHS Pension Scheme.

You can find confirmation of this information on the 'Annual Allowance Employer FAQ's' factsheet on our website.
