Document What are the time limits for making a transfer into the NHS on Club terms?

To qualify for a transfer of pension benefits under Club terms the following time limits must be met.

  1. The gap between leaving your previous pension scheme and joining the NHS Pension Scheme must be no more than 5 years

  2. You must apply for the transfer and return the signed election to proceed with the transfer to NHS Pensions within 12 months of joining

  3. You must be under the normal pension age of the sending and the receiving scheme
If the time limits are not met the transfer may still proceed however this will not be on Club terms.
