Document What is the age limit for transferring into the NHS Pension Scheme?

Your transfer into the NHS Pension Scheme must be dealt with before you reach your Normal Pension Age (NPA). For members of the 1995 Section, this would be age 60. For members of the 2008 Section, this would be age 65 and for members of the 2015 Scheme, this would be your State Pension Age.

If you are approaching your Normal Pension Age and considering a transfer into the NHS Pension Scheme, it is important that we receive your transfer details as quickly as possible as a transfer cannot normally be completed if you are over your Normal Pension Age on the date that the transfer in calculation is made.
