Document I will automatically become a member of the 2015 scheme and have an active Added Years/Additional Pension contract, can I claim this early?

No. Your Added Years / Additional Pension can only be paid from the date specified in the your purchase contract. It is not possible to claim them separately from the main pension on voluntary early retirement.

If you were in the 1995 Scheme and want to receive your Added Years early you must claim all of your 1995 benefits at the same time. If you do this you cannot re-join the 2015 Scheme.

If you were in the 2008 Scheme and want to receive your Additional Pension early you must claim all of your 2008 benefits at the same time. If you do this you are allowed re-join the 2015 Scheme.

If you do claim your 1995/2008 benefits early, your pay at the point of retirement will be used to calculate your pension providing you have not had a break of five or more years in scheme membership.
