Document How long does a Pension Sharing Order take to implement?

We have four months to implement a Sharing Order; this is known as the implementation period.

To implement a Court Order, we will recalculate the Cash Equivalent Transfer Value as at the valuation date using your pay and membership as at the effective date of the Court Order:
  • The effective date is either the date of the decree absolute/dissolution order or 28 days after the Court Order was made, whichever is later.

  • The valuation date is a date within the four month implementation period.
Both the member and the former spouse or civil partner will receive confirmation that the order has been implemented. They will receive a notice of discharge of liability.

More information on pension sharing can be found on our website.
