Document If my pensionable pay has previously been protected due to a reduction through no fault of my own, can I later also apply for voluntary protection of pay?

In the 1995 Section only, arrangements exist to protect, for pension calculation purposes, a higher level of pay if you voluntarily step down to a lower paid job after reaching the minimum pension age for that Section.

You can still apply for voluntary protection of pay in the circumstances described above if you already hold a protected pay due to a previous reduction in pay through no fault of your own.

However, you are restricted to one application for voluntary protection of pay.
