Document What pay figure will my deferred rights in the Scheme be based on at retirement?

If you continue contributing and have not had a break in scheme membership of more than 12 months, your 1995/2008 Scheme benefits will be calculated on your final salary at or near retirement, rather than your pay when you moved to the 2015 Scheme.

If you continue contributing and have had a break in scheme membership of more than 12 months before you moved to the 2015 Scheme, but less than 5 years, we will calculate your 1995/2008 Scheme benefits two ways at retirement. Firstly we will use the final salary link for all 1995/2008 membership, and secondly use the rate of pay before your break in membership of over 12 month for membership up until that point and the final salary link for the remaining membership. We will then use whichever of these two calculations is most beneficial to you.

If you have a break in membership of 5 years or more ending on or after 1 April 2015 your membership prior to the break will no longer retain any final salary link even if you subsequently return and therefore your deferred 1995/2008 Scheme benefits will be based on your rate of pay prior to the break in membership.
