Document Do I need to inform NHS Pensions if I have ‘flexibly accessed’ my money purchase arrangement?

Yes, if you have flexibly accessed benefits from a money purchase arrangement, including the NHS Money Purchase AVC Scheme, your pension provider must notify you of this within 31 days. It is then your responsibility to inform all your other pension providers within 91 days of receiving this notification.

You can do this by writing to NHS Pensions confirming that you have flexibly accessed your money purchase arrangement and the date on which this occurred as notified by your money purchase pension provider.

Please note, if you have flexibly accessed benefits from a money purchase arrangement you may have a reduced alternative Annual Allowance. More information can be found in the Annual Allowance - money purchase and alternative annual allowance factsheet on our website.
