Document Why might I have been refused help towards a sight test / voucher towards glasses by the optician?

We cannot advise on when a voucher can be given; these are regulations set by your Local Area Team (LAT). If you have a query regarding this, you need to speak to either your optician or LAT to resolve.

If you've paid the full cost of glasses or contact lenses as a result of being refused a voucher at the opticians, you can complete an HC5 refund claim form, however, it's the LAT who will make the final decision on whether a refund is given.

You can get your ATs contact details from the optician or on the NHS website.

There are special regulations if you're purchasing contact lenses as the voucher cannot always be given if you haven't applied for a voucher when you first start wearing contact lenses, again we cannot provide any advice on this.
