Document Who is entitled to free NHS prescriptions?

You're entitled to free NHS prescriptions if when you collect your prescription you;
  • are aged under 16, or;
     
  • are aged 16, 17 or 18 and in full-time education, or;
     
  • are aged 60 or over, or;
     
  • are an NHS inpatient, or;
     
  • get, or are included in an award of someone getting, Income Support, or;
     
  • get, or are included in an award of someone getting, Income based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA), or;
     
  • get, or are included in an award of someone getting, Income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), or;
     
  • are included in an award of someone getting Pension Credit Guarantee Credit, or;
     
  • get, or are included in an award of someone getting, Universal Credit (in certain circumstances only), or;
     
  • are entitled to or named on a valid Tax Credit Exemption certificate, or;
     
  • are named on a valid HC2 certificate, or;
     
  • are named on a valid Medical Exemption (MEDEX) certificate, or;
     
  • are named on a valid Maternity Exemption (MATEX) certificate, or;
     
  • are named on a valid War Pension Exemption certificate and the prescription is for your accepted disability
