Document Information on medicine use reviews (MUR)

A medicine use reviews (MUR) is a planned face to face consultation between a pharmacist and a patient to discuss the medicine that the patient is currently taking.

The review aims to help increase the patient's knowledge and understanding of their medicines while allowing the patient to discuss any queries they may have in relation to their medication.

As a pharmacy you will receive a payment for carrying out MURs. This is currently £28 per MUR.

You will be limited to claiming for 200 MURs per pharmacy for the period commencing on 1 April and ending on 30 September 2019.

The Department of Health and Social Care has issued guidance to ATs on the procedure to follow in the event that a pharmacy contractor claims payment for MURs in excess of the annual cap.

More information can be found in Part VIC of the Drug Tariff.
